Near perfect weather has brought lots of smiles for those that get to fish near Sanibel and Captiva. Snook, Trout, and Redfish are still catch and release but are lots of fun. Big Bull sharks are here with Spanish mackerel, jacks. and ladyfish. Nearshore there are snapper and some catch and release Grouper. today we caught a few nice king Mackrel. April is full but i still have a few days in May open. Plan your June July trips now to get the best dates!.

Spring fishing Sanibel and Captiva

The Fishing around Sanibel and Captiva is better after no red tide for almost 3 years. Catch and release for Snook, Trout, and Redfish have helped improve the population. The fish are getting bigger, some are breeding size. The FWC is taking comments as we approach the May 31t end date for the closed season. I support an extension to the closed season. This would allow more time for the fish to grow thru the slot and reestablish the numbers of large egg-laying females. I am targeting snapper near shore and Spanish mackerel for eating. Folks are booking out early and making up for last year's travel restrictions, book early!. I have April filled and May is almost full. Call, Text, or e-mail to book. Capt. Dave
