Captiva fishing

The summer is blazing on through July and August.  I'm taking August off to catch up on some inside air conditioning and a few vacation trips. The fishing is good for our area, no red tide around Sanibel island or Captiva island. Snook, Trout, and redfish are all biting. The mangrove snapper bite has been steady inshore. September I will be back to work and looking forward to the fall.

The boat will be at a local shop getting a new EVA floor soon. I love the cushion and non-slip that the flooring provides. A new bimini is on the Avenger to give more shade during the hot days. Thanks for checking in!, Captain Dave

Sanibel Fishing summer report

Summer is here and it's been a nonstop season. The redfish and snook are catch and release until May 2022. The Spotted Sea Trout are now open to keep a few. I have been fishing with long-time clients and new families. I enjoy watching anglers catch their first or the biggest, or just discovering something in nature. As of this post, I'm fully booked for June, I have openings on July 9th,16th, and 23rd. If any of these dates work for you, call or text, please. Here are

Spring fishing Sanibel and Captiva

The Fishing around Sanibel and Captiva is better after no red tide for almost 3 years. Catch and release for Snook, Trout, and Redfish have helped improve the population. The fish are getting bigger, some are breeding size. The FWC is taking comments as we approach the May 31t end date for the closed season. I support an extension to the closed season. This would allow more time for the fish to grow thru the slot and reestablish the numbers of large egg-laying females. I am targeting snapper near shore and Spanish mackerel for eating. Folks are booking out early and making up for last year's travel restrictions, book early!. I have April filled and May is almost full. Call, Text, or e-mail to book. Capt. Dave
